How SaRA tracks your RTM time

How review time is auto-logged, how to edit entries or log a synchronous interaction manually, and how logged time turns into the Support codes.

The Support codes (98979, 98980, 98981) are timed codes — they bill on minutes you accrue reviewing RTM data and interacting with the patient over a calendar month. SaRA runs the stopwatch for you.

Review time is logged automatically

  • SaRA automatically logs the time you spend reviewing a patient's responses and data in the dashboard — no timer to start or stop.

  • Each patient's progress shows in the Time Tracking ring on your patient list; the ring fills as minutes accrue in the current billing window.

  • On the patient's profile, the Interaction Log calendar shows every logged day and the month's running total:

Editing entries and logging interactions

  • You can edit the auto-logged entries — for example, to add time from a synchronous interaction.

  • You can also log an interaction manually, such as a phone call or an in-person discussion motivated by the patient's RTM responses — the interaction details dialog captures the type, length, and what was discussed:

Remember the synchronous requirement: logged review time alone isn't enough for 98980/98981 — you also need at least one synchronous interaction (phone, video, or in person) in the same calendar month. A texting conversation does not count.

How logged time becomes billable codes

  • 98979 — at least 10 minutes in the calendar month.

  • 98980 — at least 20 minutes plus a synchronous interaction.

  • 98981 — each additional 20-minute increment beyond 40 minutes.

The full rules — criteria, payments, and case examples — live in RTM CPT codes & billing thresholds (2026).
