Enroll yourself as a practice patient and the texts your patients get arrive on your own phone. The record never bills, counts or syncs.
Reaching practices in waves during October 2026.
If your Patients page shows Add patient but no Your first day card, the guided first day is not on for your practice yet. Message us from the in-app chat and we switch it on for your practice; nothing on your side is missing.
How to add yourself
Open your Patients page. At the top of the list is a card labelled Your first day that reads See what your patients see: add yourself as a patient.
Click Add yourself. The Add Patient form opens with your name and mobile number already filled in. Add your date of birth and finish the form.
A message confirms You are in as a practice patient, and the first text is on its way to your phone.
What happens next
The first text arrives on your phone right away, exactly as a patient receives it. Reply to it from your phone; any reply counts.
The next morning you get the check-in text your patients get.
You appear on your own patient list like any patient. Open your record to read your reply, send yourself a message, or log an interaction, the same clicks you use for a real patient.
Nothing about the practice patient is real.
It never creates a billing item, never counts in your patient numbers or reports, and never syncs to your EMR. If you add yourself again later, SaRA reuses the same record instead of making a second one.
Stopping the texts when you are done
On your Patients page, hover your own row and choose Update RTM Status.
Click Deactivate RTM, pick a reason such as Discharged, and confirm. The texts stop and your record moves to the Inactive tab.
To get the texts again later, re-activate your record from the Inactive tab, or open the three-dot menu at the bottom of the menu on the left (top right on a phone) and choose Restart your first day, which brings the card back.
If you cannot add yourself
No US mobile number. The texts go to a US mobile number. Without one, click Skip on the card; the later steps that use your practice patient are skipped with it.
Your number is already on a patient record. The form tells you so. Enter a different mobile number, or skip the step.
No clinic or no patient program on your account. The card says which one is missing. Your practice owner can add you to a clinic from the team settings; a patient program is set up with us.
The card is not there and you have never seen it. The guided first day is reaching practices in waves; message us from the in-app chat and we switch it on for your practice.
The card was there and left. It shows during your first day and leaves once you add yourself or skip. Open the three-dot menu at the bottom of the menu on the left (top right on a phone) and choose Restart your first day to bring it back. If you still do not see it, message us from the in-app chat.
