Messaging your patients from SaRA: best practices

Respond to patients directly from the SaRA dashboard instead of giving out your personal cell — plus tips that increase patient responses.

No more giving out your personal cell phone

You can respond directly to your patients inside the SaRA dashboard. The automated messages and the patient's replies are all visible in the patient's chat box, and anything you type is sent to the patient immediately as a normal text message.

Best practices

  • Sign your messages. Ending your text with a signature (as you would an email) differentiates your personal message from SaRA's automated ones and increases the likelihood of a response.

  • Add a personal touch. Reference a specific goal or detail the patient mentioned — patients appreciate these thoughtful add-ons.

  • You can schedule messages to be sent in the future from the conversation view.

Good to know

  • You can continue to send patients messages even after their automated messages have stopped.

  • The Patient Notes window in the conversation view is internal-facing only — patients never see it.

  • SaRA automatically logs the time you spend reviewing patient responses, and you can edit the logged time if needed.
