Part 1: Billing RTM as part of a visit

  1. Open the patient's profile and create the Daily Note.

  2. Copy the billing justification from SaRA and paste it into the Additional Comments section of the Objective tab.

  3. Add the applicable RTM CPT codes in the Charge Summary.

  4. Sign the note.

Part 2: Billing RTM outside of a visit (non-visit event)

  1. Create a Daily Note for the patient.

  2. In the Subjective, note that this entry documents remote therapeutic monitoring rather than an in-clinic visit.

  3. Paste the SaRA billing justification into Objective > Additional Comments.

  4. In the Assessment, add a brief comment tying the RTM data review to the plan of care.

  5. Add the applicable RTM CPT code(s) in the Charge Summary.

  6. Sign the note.

Important: visit count adjustment

SOAP 2.0 automatically increases the visit number every time a note is entered. When billing RTM as a non-visit event, subtract one from the visit count so your overall visit count stays accurate (for example, if WebPT shows 14 visits, decrease it to 13).
