Two ways claims get out the door. The care is the same either way.
Every practice on SaRA runs the same monitoring. Patients get check-in texts, their replies count toward the billing thresholds, and finished work lands on the Billing page. Your billing path decides one thing, and that is who turns finished work into claims.
Path 1: SaRA bills for you
On this path, SaRA's billing team files your RTM claims with payers.
You review each item and sign off in SaRA. The codes and the justification text are prepared for you.
We submit the claims and track them. Your Billing page shows Submitted and Closed tabs, so you can see where every claim stands without leaving SaRA.
When a payer needs a one-time enrollment before it will pay RTM claims, we prepare the paperwork and follow up on it. Your part is to print the form, sign it by hand, and return it to us. The full journey is in Payer enrollment for RTM claims.
Path 2: You self-bill
On this path, your team enters the prepared codes into your own EMR or billing system.
SaRA still does the watching. The Ready to Bill tab shows exactly which patients crossed their thresholds, with the codes to add and the justification text to copy into your documentation.
Whoever runs your billing works that list, marks each item billed, and your EMR takes it from there.
We keep step-by-step billing guides for most PT EMRs, so your biller is never guessing where the codes go.
The per-EMR guides are collected in Billing RTM in my EMR.
What's the same on both paths
Patient enrollment, check-in texts, engagement tracking, and the Billing page worklist all work identically. So does your monthly SaRA invoice, which is separate from claims and covered in How SaRA bills your clinic.
Not sure which path you're on?
Open your Billing page and look at the tabs. Submitted and Closed mean SaRA bills for you. Billed and Cancelled mean you self-bill.
Your billing path is set when your practice joins SaRA. If you want to revisit it later, message us in the in-app chat and we'll walk through what a change involves for your clinic.
