Enrolling a patient takes about a minute from your Patients page.
1. Click "Add Patient" in the top right of your Patients page
The enrollment form opens with two steps: Patient Info (required) and Details (optional).
2. Complete the required fields
Legal first name, last name, birth date, and cell phone number. The phone must be the patient's own cell — confirm it isn't a landline, or the texts won't arrive.
Patient type — the condition program that decides which check-in questions the patient receives. Pick the one that matches their care (details: Patient types and message flows).
Care clinic and Primary Provider — you're set as the primary provider automatically, and you can add secondary providers (for example, your PTA team members).
EMR Patient ID is optional — it's saved as a reference to match the patient with your EMR records for claim filing. Where to find it and which number to use: Linking a patient to their EMR chart.
3. Check the RTM setup card, then click Next
The RTM setup card carries sensible defaults you can change: length of care (how long the patient stays enrolled — SaRA stops messaging after it expires), message cadence (Mon–Fri by default), and language. Finish the optional Details step and confirm.
What happens right after
The patient receives a consent text right away — usually within seconds.
They're now enrolled: automated check-ins follow the cadence you set, and their progress appears on your patient list.
If the consent text doesn't arrive within a minute, double-check the phone number is a 10-digit cell number. Still nothing? Message us through the in-app chat and we'll look right away — see also Patient enrollment troubleshooting.
